With the release of AlfredCam, a hardware security camera designed for use with the app, it is now also set to introduce users to a variety of security options for the home. Next to that is an ‘IoT’ tab, which presumably allows for adding other devices aside from security cameras. This seems like a half-hearted gesture towards home automation. The user interface is appropriately minimal, and doesn’t require going through menu after menu to get to certain settings or features.
